Moe has had a really
hard economic downturn. There aren’t a lot of
options in Latrobe Valley, especially for young kids. The internship program came to us, we had a knock on the door from Workways. I said to Erin, I will
give the young girl a go. The four week trial we set was excellent and by the end we had made the decision, between us, that we would
like to employ Cheneille here. Yeah, she’s very confident
in what she’s doing. I love her preparation skills. Yeah, very happy with her. The support that Workways has provided us has been second to none. Whether it be some new work
boots, some work attire. The qualities that Cheneille
had that I was looking for, she was punctual, she listened. And in a very male dominated industry, she fitted in from day one. First of all, we put
her into the paint shop because that’s where she chose to be. Pretty impressed straight off. We are all feeling very lucky here that we have found Cheneille. We decided that we were
going to employ her for a three-to-four-day week position and then we will review
it again in 12 months. As a small business, the wage subsidy has certainly helped us to cover some of my expenses and to
cover some of hers as well. Using Youth Jobs PaTH has been a truly rewarding experience. I would absolutely recommend this pathway for youth employment. It has been fantastic.
