Hi, it’s Emma again, welcome to the first
episode of our Christmas countdown mini series! If you’re planning a job move in
2020 then this is the place for you. Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to take
you through the whole job-seeking process and hopefully inspire some ideas
and ultimately land you a job in 2020. Christmas is a great time to start a
job search, you have time off, Hiring Managers are in a festive mood and
recruiters are looking for that last-minute end of year commission but
where do you begin? Well, Here’s your step-by-step list of how to begin a festive job search. First you’ve got to get yourself organised. You can update your CV and LinkedIn profile with your latest achievements
and contact details- make sure they’re on there because people will need to get in
touch with you! Next, does your social media need a clean up? You might want to remove anything you wouldn’t want a hiring manager to see or
make yourself private across all social media channels that might be easier. Then you can get yourself out there send your CV to your favourite recruiter clockworkTalent, and make sure people know that you’re looking for a job. If you’re
able to you can post on LinkedIn that you’re actively looking for new
opportunities or tweet about it. Being proactive at the beginning of a job
search can really make a big impact and you never know who might come across
your post! Then you can apply for jobs you find online or get in touch with
businesses that might not have an open job but by getting in front of them with
a speculative email you’ll be at the top of their radar when they are planning to
hire which might be at the beginning of next year. I hope this spurs you on to
begin your festive job search if you have any other questions drop a comment below and I will see you next week when we’re talking about interview prep!
