We need to equip our students for the world of tomorrow. To succeed in the future ourstudents will need research, problem solving and critical thinking skills. They’ll need to be able to work independently and together in groups. The spaces our students learn in have to be more flexible with the innovative integration of new technology and better opportunities
for student/teacher collaboration. That’s why the NSW Government is delivering up to 1,600 new or refurbished classrooms and learning spaces across the state with funds from Rebuilding New South Wales. The Innovative Education Successful Students Package will ensure new and rebuilt public schools are designed as future-focused learning environments. School buildings and classrooms will be able to adapt to the ongoing changes in technology and how we connect. Teaching and learning areas will be more flexible. They’ll be able to opened or closed to meet specific learning styles and needs. Amphitheatre spaces will allow for formal and informal gatherings for both school and community functions, and open spaces will be available for recreation, as well as providing good opportunities for outdoor learning. The Innovative Education Successful Students plan will create adaptable and engaging environments that welcome the community and reflect students’ aspirations. It’s an important investment, set to help all students build the skills they need for successful lives.
