I view agriculture as one of the most
noble professions a person can have and if you can’t live it from the
production side, I think there’s a lot of benefit to
living through an organization like Farm Credit Services America
and serving agriculture. Our vision is to be agriculture’s
most valued financial partner and it’s really just getting the job done
at the end of the day to help that customer succeed. When I came to Farm Credit Services of America, I didn’t know what to expect and I was completely and utterly blown away. I think they know that the investment in the tools and the technology pays huge dividends. We like to be the best that we can be. I truly believe that technology, if done right, to the high quality with the right reasons and business needs, we can truly prosper
with anything. You take a role at FCSAmerica and
you can make it your own. My leader encourages us to come
and take some outside classes. I have the right trainings,
I have the right atmosphere. I have my own ideas I have my projects that I work on
that I can drive forward. The outside classes you get to choose
and some of them are, you know, to improve what you are doing
with where you want to be. You know within Farm Credit Services of America,
I’d say it’s limitless. Another reason I like working here
is the people, the people, the people. Everybody talks about teamwork, but when you get here, you realize
not only do they talk about it and live it, but it’s even beyond the expectation
that you’d have. To me, team culture’s like a family,
we rely on each other, we feel like we can talk to each other,
we do everything together. I truly believe that the team culture is a huge, it’s a huge seller. When you work with people day in and day out, spend eight to ten hours of your day
every day five, six days a week, you really become an extended family. I am surrounded by rock stars. I operate by admiration and if I wasn’t surrounded by people that
I in one way or another admired I wouldn’t last. They’re really, really driven people who are very, very talented in what they do
and you can learn a ton from them. It’s a very collaborative effort,
it’s a very, it’s a competitive effort. We have a lot of fun working here,
we work hard and we have fun doing it. We’ve had bowling activities we’ve been boat trips, we’ve had different scavenger hunts. We don’t just have a company store
we have a fashion show. Fun to me is, I come in every day
and I have, I have the ability to work
under my own terms. The work-life balance is a
is a huge important thing. It’s something that we talk about as a company that that’s very,
very important. If I have a family thing I need to make time for, it is very clear
to me that that’s not a problem. You can’t put a dollar value on that, it’s something that’s important enough
that people should consider that and take a step back and understand that
not every company works this way. We have opportunities where employees
can either volunteer individually or as a team. We’ve been given so much that
its kind of our obligation to give back, we’ve done backpack programs
as far as food banks go. I’ve been to the Open Door Mission you know, the food bank, other things
I wouldn’t otherwise volunteer for myself, but it goes back to the team culture. The company understands that their greatest investment is their
teammates in the employees. It really matters to them to
make people happy. They care about what you
bring to the table, they care about your family, they care about your work-life balance. It’s the philosophy of the teamwork
and team goals and good benefits. It’s the chance to improve yourself
both personally and professionally. When you’re doing what you love life is good. I’d tell them I wouldn’t have been
here for 14, 15 years if I didn’t think it was the
best company to work for.
