Tyrhee Moore is a Program Staff Member with City Kids Wilderness Project . A Washington, D.C., native, Tyrhee was 13 before he saw his first mountain. Six years later, he joined a group of African American climbers to attempt the highest peak in North America on Expedition Denali. He attended the University of West Virginia and has graduated from two NOLS courses, including an Outdoor Educator Course in the Paciﬁc Northwest that included mountaineering in the Cascades. In addition to spending two months with NOLS in the Alaska’s Talkeetna Range and Washington’s Cascade Range, Tyrhee has also been a kayaking instructor at Rendezvous River Sports in Jackson, Wyo. At City Kids Wilderness Project he teaches teamwork, leadership, and outdoor skills.
Tyrhee will participate in the Conservation Leadership panel on Thursday, Oct. 8 at the SHIFT Summit.
